On Monday Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with Director General of Directorate for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson and leader of Ukraine Support Group of the European Commission Peter Balazs.
At the beginning of the meeting, leader of Ukrainian Parliament stressed that our country "needs changes and reforms"; and the "Country Revival Plan for 2015-2017" shall become a solid basis for implementing reforms". He says the Plan is now being elaborated by the Government and hopes that by mid-February the elaboration should be completed.
Volodymyr Groysman believes that a promising plan for legislative work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, "which will implement the reforms", will be elaborated on the basis of "Country Revival Plan for 2015-2017" and the adopted decisions. He hopes for an expert assistance of Western partners on compliance of these legislative acts with the norms of European legislation.
The Parties discussed the state of preparation for implementing structural transformations in the sphere of legal proceedings, state service, energy, economy, and state financial management system.
Christian Danielsson stressed that reforms in the abovementioned spheres will promote ensuring external revenues to Ukraine and its further support by world partners. He expressed readiness of the European Commission to provide expert assistance to Ukrainian Parliament and Government and exchange experience in implementing reforms and transformations.
